Chapter Two

Neither of them slept, sitting patiently in her room in St. Mungos, night and day the nurses there gave her potions and transfusions of Blood. It had been three days now since the attack, and she hadn’t woken up. The Doctors had told them that there was a 40% chance survival of Vampire attacks. It all depended on the patient, and the Vampire who had bitten them.
“It’s a simple case of wants” the graved faced Dr Kelmann had told them
“Wants?” Lupin seemed to be the only one of the three who had the ability to talk.
“Yes, you see the vampire has to want to turn them instead of just eat, which means it would have given her its blood, and then there’s if she wants to live.”
Ron’s face went white, he ran over to her bed “WANTS TO LIVE?!!” he screamed “Of course she wants to live. Common ‘Mione, show ‘em, show ‘em you want to live.” His eyes welled up and he held her to his chest.

It was another two days before she finally awoke, pale faced and weak. Harry, Ron and Lupin had decided to take it in turns watching her, so they could each get some rest. It was Lupin who was with her, starring at her, willing her to wake. Her eyes flickered open and she groaned. “Too bright” she mumbled before throwing her arm over her face. Lupin, shocked pulled his wand out and flicked the light so there was only the light from the moon shinning through “Better?” he asked. The only answer he got was her arm moving from her face.  He ran to the door and yelled for the Doctor who came running.

“Please Mr Lupin, I must ask you to leave.  Have to examine her, and it would be better to do it alone. Go tell the others that she’s awake” Lupin just nodded and left in a daze.  In a few minutes, all three had returned, and Ron ran in to the room not listening to Lupin that they needed to remain out side for a little while. The door swung open, and Ron ran in with a huge grin on his face, which quickly fell. Hermione was sitting up-right, with a glass of something red that could only have been blood, she was drinking it like she was totally famished, hungrily downing it, not caring for the little bits that fell from her lips down her. “Oh my god!” Ron whispered to himself, “Hermione?” She didn’t notice him, and continued to drink the huge glass of red liquid. Dr Kelmann saw him “Mr Weasley, please wait outside” A nurse grabbed him firmly by the arm and pulled him out in to the corridor to a waiting Harry and Lupin. “What’s happening? What’s wrong” said Harry, flustered. “She…blood…there was…vampire”
“Ron, what are you talking about?” asked Lupin calmly
“Hermione…she’s a bloody vampire!”
There was dead silence as Dr Kelmann came out to them, not noticing their pale faces of shock he began “Well Hermione has gained full conscience and is as healthy as can be expected…for some one in her, err, condition. She’ll be able to leave in a few hours.”

Ron was the first to regain his voice “She a FUCKING VAMPIRE!!!” He flew forward at the doctor and hit him squarely in the chin “YOU NEVER SAID SHE WOULD BE A FUCKING BLOOD SUCKING BAT!!!”  Harry and Lupin came forward and tried to restrain him. Dr Kelmann raised himself off the floor and dusted him self down. “No please, let him go, its perfectly understandable.” He readjusted his glasses “I did not make it clear that if she wakes, which thank Merlin she has, she would indeed be a Vampire. But remember this does not change who she is on the inside. There are many Vampires who have happily reintegrated themselves into society. Of course she’ll need to feed every night to keep herself healthy, its only when starved that Vampires get…rowdy…” there was complete silence from the captivated audience. “Yes well I believe you can go in and see her now.”

All three walked into the room, their eyes were wide open in shock at what they saw in front of them. It looked like the Hermione Granger they knew, but different, very different. Her skin glowed white, as if she was transparent, or and angel. It was china, or alabaster. Her frizzy chestnut locks had somehow calmed and darkened to a mahogany halo of rich corkscrew curls. Her lips were fuller, redder more luscious. And her body, that seemed to have changed too, maybe it was because of the thin material of the hospital gown showed her curves off more, or there suddenly were actually curves. Her nails were more like talons now, longer and looked a lot stronger. There was a slight hew of rose on her cheeks, where the blood had infused her, and given her colour.

Mouths dropped, and none could believe it. She smiled at them, same old Hermione smile, but there was something in it, something dark. “Hello boys” Her voice had obviously changed, it was smooth, seductive and alluring.  “You’ll catch flies like that” she told them. Quickly they remembered themselves and closed their gapping mouths.

Things were awkward at first, but soon they were laughing and chatting like they used too. Except Ron, he kept giving her the strangest looks; Harry was constantly elbowing him, trying to stop him from staring at her like a fish. But he took no notice. Eventually it got dark, and Hermione looked tired “I’m sorry, I need some rest. Can we talk more tomorrow?” She began to get herself comfortable on the bed “Actaully” she said as they begin to leave “Ron can I talk to you.”
again sheer boerdom
