Reflections painted in a window
so many years have gone by
the soilder once so dashing
aged in the blink of an eye

he fought for his country
his people, his kin
he fought for the crown of crowns
and his love within

the man was so brave
and toiled hard
blood, sweat and tears were shead
and the smell of the dead changed him

when he returned
he was the same
the difference deep inside
his souls music died

his mother she felt whole
his father stood prowd alone
and his gal he left behind
smiled but angered inside

his absence made no difference
he saw all that was hidden
mothers illness, fathers bitterness,
and his woman, two lives in her eyes

he coped with it, he smile,
he egnored it and he died
broken hearts never heal
when war has stripped them inside
I wrote this inspired by the story my mum told me about my greatnan, how she lost her husband in the war, but every other hubby in the village returnd. All their wifes had had affairs and did not want them back, but she stayed true and wanted him to return but he never did. Its also slightly inspired by Pearl Harbor, i dont quite remember how, it just is.

Han, that's so sad, and the story behind the words makes it even sadder. ;_;
I like the way this flows, by the way, and the expressions you've used. ^^
